- Not keeping the needle straight can result in damage to the pen.
- Turn the dosage selector to 2.
- Remove the inner needle cap.
- Point the pen upwards.
- Tap the insulin, allowing any air bubbles to rise.
- Press the injection button, making sure insulin comes out of the needle tip.
- Repeat this process until insulin comes out of the tip of the pen. Change the needle if necessary.
- If the pen still does not work after changing the needle, your pen is most likely damaged and should not be used.
