Methylprednisolone is a glucocorticoid, closely related to cortisone, that is used to control inflammation and suppress the immune system.

Methylprednisolone is a steroid used to reduce swelling and decrease the body's immune response.

Methylprednisolone is available in 4 mg tablets.

Methylprednisolone Warnings

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone.

Do not use in pets that are pregnant or lactating.

Do not use with any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin.

Avoid use in animals with viral or fungal infections.

Do not give any vaccines during treatment with methylprednisolone.

Glucocorticoids can delay the healing process, so this drug should not be used before surgical procedures.

Let your veterinarian know if your pet is on any other medications, as methylprednisolone can interact with other medications, including...

Give as directed by your veterinarian.

Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label.

Store methylprednisolone at room temperature

Be sure to complete the prescription to ensure a full recovery, even if your pet seems to be improving, unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian.

Allow your pet access to plenty of drinking water while administering methylprednisolone.

Methylprednisolone should be given with food.

Do not stop methylprednisolone treatment suddenly.

There should be a gradual reduction in dosage before stopping treatment.

In the case of a missed dose of methylprednisolone, give it as soon as you remember or wait until it is time to give the next dose. DO NOT GIVE A DOUBLE DOSE OF METHYLPREDNISOLONE.

In the case of an overdose of methylprednisolone, seek attention from your veterinarian.
