Novox Basics
  • Novox is available by prescription only.
  • Novox is used to treat...

  • decreased movement of joints
  • Novox (Carprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is related to aspirin and ibuprofen. It is the generic equivalent to Rimadyl.
  • Like other NSAIDs, Novox works by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins.  Prostaglandins are chemicals in the body that promote inflammation, pain, and fever, increase blood clotting, and protect the lining of the stomach from damaging acids.

Novox Warnings
  • Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Novox is not intended for human use.
  • Novox should not be used in animals that are allergic to...
  • carprofen
  • aspirin
  • other NSAIDs
  • Novox may interact with some other medications. Inform your veterinarian of any and all medications your pet may be taking.
  • Use with caution in pets that are pregnant or lactating.
  • Novox can cause stomach ulcers.
  • Notify your veterinarian if your dog suffers from liver disease, kidney disease, or a bleeding disorder.
  • Liver values should be monitored periodically while using Novox.


Novox Directions
  • Use as directed by your veterinarian.
  • Follow the instructions on the prescription label.
  • Store at room temperature.
  • Complete the entire prescription, even if your pet seems to be improving, unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian.
  • Give Novox with food to prevent upset stomach.
  • For use in DOGS ONLY.
  • Novox is not recommended for use in cats.
