Zonisamide is for use in dogs.
Zonisamide comes in three different strengths:
25 mg
50 mg
100 mg
Zonisamide Warnings
Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not use in pets that are pregnant or nursing.
Do not use in pets with known allergies to sulfa drugs.
Do not stop giving zonisamide suddenly. Pets should be gradually taken off of zonisamide.
Store at room temperature.
Store capsules away from light and moisture.
Zonisamide Directions
Use as directed by your veterinarian.
Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label.
Zonisamide can be given with or without food.
Giving zonisamide with food may decrease the chances of stomach upset.
Be sure to gradually decrease zonisamide treatment. Suddenly stopping treatment can cause serious side effects.
Store tablets at room temperature protected from light and moisture.
If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while giving zonisamide, contact your veterinarian immediately.Adverse Reactions and Serious Side Effects
Stopping zonisamide treatment suddenly could cause an increase in seizures.
Do not give zonisamide to pregnant pets. Birth defects could occur if zonisamide is given to a pregnant dog.
