Ayradia (Metronidazole Oral Suspension)

• Ayradia (Metronidazole Oral Suspension) is available by prescription only.

• Metronidazole is an antibiotic that effectively fights anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites associated with the intestines, vaginal tract, mouth, bones and joints.

• Ayradia (Metronidazole Oral Suspension) is chicken flavored and comes in two bottle sizes:
• 30mL
• 100mL

• Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

• For use in puppies and dogs.

• Do not administer to any animal with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to metronidazole.

• Metronidazole can negatively interact with other drugs, so let your veterinarian know about any additional medications your pet is taking. 

• Use with caution in animals with liver disease and with hepatic disfunction.

• Metronidazole will not treat a vaginal yeast infection.

• Alert your veterinarian if your pet has watery or bloody diarrhea.

• Store at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.

• Ayradia is NOT for human use.

• Avoid contact with skin and wash hands after use.

• Give as directed by your veterinarian.

• Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label.

• Store metronidazole at room temperature and away from light.

• Dose and duration of the medication depends on the condition that is being treated.

• Be sure to complete the prescription to ensure a full recovery, even if your pet seems to be improving, unless instructed otherwise by your veterinarian.

• Can be given with small amount of food or administered orally.

• In the case of a missed dose of metronidazole, give it as soon as you remember or wait until it is time to give the next dose. DO NOT GIVE A DOUBLE DOSE OF METRONIDAZOLE.

• In the case of an overdose of metronidazole, seek attention from your veterinarian. Symptoms of an overdose may include...

• vomiting

• dizziness

• Allergic reactions and serious side effects are rare, but in the case of an allergic reaction or a serious side effect you should stop metronidazole treatment and seek veterinary attention.

• breathing difficulty

• facial swelling

• watery or bloody diarrhea

• seizures

• sores inside of mouth

• fever
