Dormosedan Gel Basics
  • Dormosedan Gel is available by prescription only.
  • Dormosedan Gel is used for sedation in horses.
  • Dormosedan is an alpha2-adrenoreceptor agonist.
  • Dormosedan is available in a 3 mL syringe.
Dormosedan Gel Warnings
  • Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Dormosedan is not intended for human use.
  • Dormosedan should not be swallowed. Administer below the tongue.
  • Wait at least 40 minutes for Dormosedan to take effect.
  • Wear gloves when administering Dormosedan.
  • Avoid exposure to eyes and skin.
  • Store at room temperature.
Dormosedan Gel Directions
  • Give as directed by your veterinarian.
  • Follow the instructions printed on the prescription label.
  • Sedated horses may still respond to stimuli. Use caution.
  • Store gel at room temperature, protected from light and moisture.
  • Administer gel under the tongue.
  • Wear gloves when administering Dormosedan.
  • Do not let Dormosedan come into contact with your skin or eyes.
  • Gel should not be swallowed.
If you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your horse while administering Dormosedan, contact your veterinarian immediately.
