Ketofen

• Ketofen is available by prescription only.

• Ketofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

• Ketofen is used for pain an inflammation from musculoskeletal disorders.

• For use in horses only.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

• Do not use in pregnant or breeding horses.

• Do not use Ketofen through intra-arterial injection.

• Ketofen may interact with some other medications. Tell your veterinarian about any and all medications your pet may be taking.

• Horses who have shown previous hypersensitivity to ketoprofen should not take Ketofen.

• Give 1 mg per pound (1 mL/100 lbs) of body weight

• Administer once daily

• Treatment is administered by intravenous injection and may be repeated for up to five days.

• Overdoses can cause serious side effects such as...

• abdominal swelling

• depression

• hepatitis

• lamnitis

• In the case of an accidental overdose, contact your veterinarian immediately.
