• Store spironolactone at room temperature.

• Be sure to give medication consistently in order to effectively manage symptoms.

• Give spironolactone with food and water to lessen stomach upset.

• Give 0.5 to 1 mg / pound of body weight.

• Give by mouth every 12 hours.

• In the case of a missed dose of spironolactone, give it as soon as you remember or wait until it is time to give the next dose.  DO NOT GIVE A DOUBLE DOSE OF SPIRONOLACTONE.

• In the case of an overdose of spironolactone, seek attention from your veterinarian.
