Credelio for cats is a once monthly preventative chewable tablet that kills fleas and ticks in cats 8 weeks of age and older. It treats flea and tick infestations, effectively killing fleas and Ixodes Scapularis ticks. The main ingredient in this medication is lotilaner. Lotilaner blocks the transfer of chloride ions in insect cells, attacking the central nervous system of fleas and ticks.
Credelio for cats requires a prescription from your veterinarian. It comes in small, flavored, chewable tablets. It comes in the following sizes based on your pet's weight:
Use as directed by your veterinarian, and follow all instructions printed on the prescription label. Give 1 tablet by mouth once a month. Administer this medication with food or within 30 minutes of feeding.

Keep out of the reach of children and pets. This product is not intended for human consumption; it is for use in cats only. Do not use in pets less than 8 weeks of age. Use with caution in pets that are pregnant or nursing as well as in pets that have a history of seizures. In the case of a missed dose of Credelio, give the dose as soon as you remember. Do not give a double dose. Finally, if you notice any behavioral or physiological changes in your pet while giving this medication, contact your veterinarian immediately.
